Monster Energy (or simply known as Monster) is an American brand of energy drink manufactured by Monster Beverage Company Inc. of Corona, California, which is owned and operated by Hansen Beverage Company. Monster was one of the first energy drinks marketed in a 16 oz (473 ml) can, nearly twice the size of the typical 8.4 oz (252 ml) size of other energy drinks such as Red Bull, but for around the same price. It was first introduced in the 16 oz can in 2002. Later Monster Energy and Lo-Carb Monster were introduced in a 24 oz (710 ml) can in 2005.
